Rice Festival
Meal for the Poor
Rice festival of Bagà or meal for the poor.
For over seven hundred years, Bagà has prepared the so-called meal for the poor (witch would originally be cooked on Carnival Sunday).
On the arcaded aquare of Bagà, 250 kilos of rice, vegetables, seafood and meat, are coocked in a skillet of 3 meters in diameter, which makes a wonderful rice dish for 2000 people.
The Cerdà Dance also takes place on the square during the day, a tradition that has always accompanied the rice festival. In recent years it is also usual to find a display of Berguedà handicrafts and atisanal products.
